7.8.3 Specific Requirements for Test Reports

In addition to the general reporting requirements, test reports shall include additional details necessary for interpreting test results.

7.8.3.1 Additional Information in Test Reports

In addition to the requirements listed in 7.8.2, test reports shall include the following, where necessary for the interpretation of test results:

  • Specific test conditions: such as environmental conditions.
  • Statement of conformity: where relevant, confirming compliance with requirements or specifications (see 7.8.6).
  • Measurement uncertainty: presented in the same unit as the measurand or as a percentage, when:
    • It is relevant to the validity or application of the test results.
    • The customer explicitly requests it.
    • Measurement uncertainty affects conformity to a specification limit.
  • Opinions and interpretations: where appropriate (see 7.8.7).
  • Additional information: required by specific methods, authorities, customers, or groups of customers.

7.8.3.2 Sampling Activity in Test Reports

Where the laboratory is responsible for the sampling activity, test reports shall meet the requirements listed in 7.8.5, where necessary for the interpretation of test results.
