7.8.5 Reporting Sampling – Specific Requirements

Where the laboratory is responsible for sampling, reports shall include additional details necessary for interpreting the results, in addition to general reporting requirements.

Sampling Information in Reports

Where the laboratory is responsible for the sampling activity, reports shall include the following, in addition to the requirements listed in 7.8.2, where necessary for interpreting results:

  • Date of sampling.
  • Unique identification of the item or material sampled, including:
    • Name of the manufacturer.
    • Model or type designation.
    • Serial numbers (if applicable).
  • Location of sampling, including:
    • Diagrams.
    • Sketches.
    • Photographs (if applicable).
  • Reference to the sampling plan and sampling method.
  • Environmental conditions during sampling that may affect result interpretation.
  • Information necessary to evaluate measurement uncertainty for subsequent testing or calibration.
